The field has ediable grains and it is also in beetween the pond and the Nests. It is about a days walk from one side of the field to the other.

Fuzz scurried onto the field about as fast as his small feet could carry him. That’s the LAST time someone’s calling me Mr. Fuzzles, he thought to himself. That was only half-true, though. He had a tendency to run off, spend a few days in the wilderness, then return home to be lavished with extra rations, as he called them.
Once he was a good distance into the field, he slowed down until he saw what he was looking for—a small, sunny area surrounded by tall grass. The whispy fur on his tail waved rapidly in excitement as he waddled over there and lazily plopped to the ground, soon to fall into a rather light sleep. Just a nap.

Scarlet continued. “We have come to ask you to join one of our hordes.” You can choose any you like and will be welcome.”
“Witch horde would you like to be in?” questioned Thunder calmly.
“Why? Do I have to or something?” Fuzz pestered lazily. He wasn’t in a mood for joining some commitee at the moment.

He ran as fast as he could the other way, hearing the sound get closer. The bee came into view, landing on a flower nearby. His heart, which had been beating at a ridiculously fast heart rate, slowed to it’s normal pace again.

“You leave our land forever.” Continued Scarlet and Thunder nodded liking this one. “Or we kill you.” Said Scarlet nonchalantly. “Or,” Started thunder “we could return you to your humans were you don’t have to do anything.” The voices of the Rodents reached Vivaldi’s ears.
Ozzie was racing through the field, she loved to dart back and forth in the free space. She was enjoying herself to much to notice where she was, until she ran strait into snarl…

WHOA. This was getting a little extreme.
“Wait, I’ve come here for forever. Why do you all of a sudden want to kill me?” he said, a little annoyed that these rodents stirred him from his nap to give him death threats. “Yeah, I have humans. They’re pretty well-behaved, but I like to get out as much as the next chinchilla. What’s the big deal?”

“No, I’m not talking about the stupid field, I’m actually refering to my human’s giant cage,” Fuzz snapped. WHY were they doing this now—and couldn’t they have waited for him to naturally wake up? “Wait a second…you can’t drive me off of the field anyway! Since when did it belong to you? Humans walk across it all the time, yet I don’t see you asking them to join your packs or hordes…clans, whatever they are.”

So apparently there wasn’t any way to stay in the field and avoid these idiots. Fuzz groaned, muttered, “You suck,” then turned around and began heading away from the field…towards the flower patch. Surely EVERYTHING couldn’t belong to them…right?

Curious, he hid in some grass, until a harsh wind blew a rock his way and he accidentally somersaulted into the small clearing.
“Oof!” he squeaked as he landed on his stomach, sprauled out on the ground. He quickly brought himself back to a sitting position, shaking the dirt out of his fur by shaking his head. “Hello..” he said nervously (and awkwardly.) “I’m sorry to…interrupt you, I didn’t mean to, but there was a large stone that was headed for me and,” he winced. “I didn’t mean to disturb you anyway.”

She stopped and stood on her hind legs, sniffed the air, and then went down into a small hole in the ground. She scuttled down the dirt tunnels that formed her family’s dens, trying to figure out where her mother had gone off to.

He thought about the bad things in his human home—sometimes they forgot to give him water, gave him these dreaded sandstorms called ‘dust baths’…
Not to mention they gave him his true name. He hated it: Mr. Fuzzles. He felt ridiculous every time he heard the little girl screaming “MR. FUZZLES! MR. FUZZY-WUZZY!”
Suddenly, he noticed Scarlet across the way with another mouse. He seemed friendly enough, so he waddled over to them.
“Hey, um…” Fuzz said, trying to recall the name. “…Scarlet. I’m really sorry for the way I was acting earlier. I’m not usually that disrespectful. I was mostly annoyed because you stopped my nap before it even started.” He managed to crack a smile, hoping to lighten the mood.
“Anyway, I realized that the reason I was out here, anyway, was because I wanted to escape from my current life for something more exciting. Something new, wild, sort of spontanious, but having some staples that don’t stop.
“I think your offer was more than generous. However, just so I won’t be alone,” he glanced at Vivaldi, “If he’s joining, I’d like to be in the same horde as he is, reguardless of what that is.”
Fuzz waited for her or the mouse to reply, hoping he wouldn’t just recieve another death threat.

And the she turned to Ozzie. “Now why would I do a thing like that?” She looked around at all three of them. “All of you follow me. Even if you don’t decide to join I’m sure you would appreciate shelter for the night.” She turned to leave and walked a little ways and looked back to see if they were following.

Comment by Toes July 31, 2008 @ 3:01 pmFuzz followed her example, exept it took him a little longer. For the first few times, the moss kept falling into the water. Then the pieces were really small. After a few minutes, though, he was getting some moderately good sized bits.
